The Fraternity reminds its members that nominations for the 2016 Significant Sig Award must be completed by Nov. 15, and that nominations for induction into the Order of Constantine must be completed by Dec. 31.
The Significant Sig Award is presented each year to those recipients whose professional achievements bring honor and distinction to Sigma Chi. Among its winners are legendary film star John Wayne, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 1929; 2014 College Football Playoff national championship-winning coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes Urban Meyer, CINCINNATI 1986; and Huntsman Cancer Institute founder Jon M. Huntsman, PENNSYLVANIA 1959.
Likewise, the Order of Constantine recognizes those Sigs who have performed 20 or more years of exemplary volunteer service for the Fraternity; of the Fraternity’s more than 323,000 initiates, just 723 have been accepted into the Order. In normal years, the number of inductees is capped at 14, though that number can be exceeded if every living member of the Order approves of a candidate’s induction.
