Each year, the Order of Constantine recognizes a group of Sigma Chi brothers for their commitment, dedication and service to the Fraternity. Induction into the Order of Constantine is considered to be the highest honor that the Sigma Chi Fraternity bestows upon one of its members. The honor of being named an Order of Constantine Sig has been conferred on just over 829 brothers since the Order's inception at the 47th Grand Chapter in 1948.

Once nominations are closed for the year, the selection committee will review and consider the qualifications of the pool of nominees and then make their final determinations. The review process will commence Dec. 1, with the annual class of the Order of Constantine being announced in February. Induction ceremonies will be held annually at either Grand Chapter or Grand Council. Inductees who are unable to attend the induction ceremony at Grand Chapter or Grand Council may choose to receive their Order of Constantine certificate, lapel pin, medallion and/or wall plaque at a local Sigma Chi event.
The nominator is charged with the responsibility of providing the Order of Constantine with accurate, up-to-date information on the activities and accomplishments of a nominee. The impact of a brother's service to Sigma Chi and the results he has helped to achieve will carry more weight with the Selection Committee than a lengthy list of activities performed. During the review process, members of the selection committee may contact the nominator to discuss/verify the credentials of the nominee and/or to obtain additional information. Members of the Order of Constantine who are familiar with the accomplishments of a nominee may also be invited to participate in the screening process.
Each nominee must receive a minimum of four letters of endorsement (the nomination form plus at least three additional letters of endorsement — i.e., the nomination form will count as an endorsement from the nominator if they did not submit a letter of nomination along with the form). Each nominee is, however, limited to five letters of endorsement that the selection committee will review. At least three of the endorsement letters must be from current members of the Order of Constantine. Letters of support should only be sought from Sigma Chi brothers who have personal knowledge of the activities and credentials of a nominee. That group includes members of the Order of Constantine, Grand Officers including Grand Trustees and Grand Praetors, presidents of local house corporations, presidents of local alumni chapters and Consuls of local undergraduate chapters.
The deadline for the receipt of nomination forms and supplemental information pertaining to a nominee is Nov 30. Completed nomination forms, letters of endorsement, supplemental information and a recent photo of the nominee should be submitted via the online portal.
