Sigma Chi International Fraternity Suspends Chapter at California State University, Sacramento

The Sigma Chi International Fraternity’s Executive Committee has suspended its chapter at California State University, Sacramento due to repeated conduct violations that directly conflict with the Fraternity’s core values. The issues ultimately required an indefinite suspension of the chapter.
Sigma Chi has removed all existing undergraduate members from any further involvement with the chapter and ceased all chapter operations. When the timing is right for a return to campus, Sigma Chi will make a strong, committed effort to recruit a new group of potential members.
“We will remain in close partnership with Sacramento State University to determine an optimal return date. At that time, we will search diligently to find young men in the campus community who are interested in developing their leadership potential, and whocan identify with and proudly live our core values as Sigma Chis,” says 68th Grand Consul (International President) Michael Greenberg, ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 1982.
“We are determined to make every effort to remain at Sacramento State, but our membership there must be fully committed to our fraternal values, and continually strive to be better leaders on campus and in our community,” Greenberg continues.
The Fraternity is taking steps now, in collaboration with university administrators, localalumni and volunteer leadership, to develop a long-term educational and leadership program to restore the Theta Xi chapter when the time is right for Sigma Chi’s return to campus.
