Sigma Chi International Fraternity’s board of directors, or Executive Committee, has voted to suspend the Iota Theta chapter, located at the University of Dayton. The General Fraternity suspended the chapter due to various repeated policy violations over the last few years.
The Executive Committee suspended the chapter’s charter for an indefinite period of time.

Dennis Santoli, Sigma Chi’s international president, or Grand Consul, released a statement regarding the decision: “Our personal commitment, and the commitment of the General Fraternity to the ideals we profess in our Ritual, requires that we hold each other accountable for actions that do not support the mission, values, and virtues of Sigma Chi. The decision to suspend [the] charter was made only after every other possible avenue was explored and, ultimately, found inadequate.”

Sigma Chi is resolved to hold its chapters accountable to all international Fraternity policies.
