Dec. 14, 2022 | Evanston, Illinois — One month ago, an unthinkable tragedy took the life of one of our members, Ethan Chapin, along with Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves. Since that time we have been actively working with the men of our Gamma Eta chapter to provide them with support, counsel and brotherhood as they navigated the most difficult of circumstances.

Out of respect for Ethan and his family, the chapter chose to refrain from public comment until such time as they felt appropriate, and the International Fraternity joined in that decision.

We are enormously proud of the chapter, with particular mention of chapter president Reed Ofsthun, for the way they have demonstrated their love for Ethan and their commitment to honoring his memory.

Our efforts to support the men of the chapter will continue and we express our most tender thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims and the countless friends who knew and loved them.
