Undergraduate chapters that are insured by the Risk Management Foundation (RMF) should be aware that many third-party venues hosting Fraternity events require certificates of insurance from the RMF. Such certificates can be obtained by contacting the RMF at least 30 days in advance.
The 30-day window provides the RMF with time to review the particulars of the event, and to judge whether or not it will fall under acceptable coverage guidelines. Hosting offsite events without obtaining certificates of insurance from the RMF may lead to the denial of claims associated with said unauthorized event.
For more information, email the RMF or visit the RMF's website.
