The 2013 to 2014 school year will bring many changes regarding scholarship within the Sigma Chi International Fraternity. For starters, undergraduates will be required to adhere to new individual and chapter GPA requirements.
Since scholarship should be the first duty and priority of a college student, Sigma Chi hopes to place a strong emphasis on achieving high-quality grades within the ranks of its undergraduate brothers. All of the Fraternity’s 241 undergraduate chapters are now required to attain a 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent in order to remain in good standing with the Fraternity.
In addition, a Sigma Chi pledge must attain a 2.5 GPA out of 4.0 or its equivalent in order to be initiated into the Fraternity.
To help strengthen each chapter’s push toward continually improving its scholarship efforts, the Sigma Chi Fraternity’s scholarship committee, led by Order of Constantine Sig and West Michigan Grand Praetor Chris Nyers, WESTERN MICHIGAN 1989, created a scholarship manual as a resource for scholarship chairmen to distribute within their chapters.
