In recognition of the organization’s 75th anniversary in 2015, the Sigma Chi Foundation declared its goal last year to endow 75 new donor-scholar awards for the 2015 to 2016 school year. At the 80th Grand Chapter in San Diego, Foundation representatives announced that they had exceeded that goal by endowing 76 additional scholarships for the coming academic year.
The availability of the 76 scholarships means that the Foundation will award $340,000 in academic scholarships to Sigma Chis during the coming academic year—the ninth consecutive year in which the Foundation has increased its support of scholarships by $25,000 or more. Since its establishment during the 2012 to 2013 fiscal year, the Foundation’s donor-scholar program has helped scholarship recipients establish mentor/mentee relationships with Foundation donors and volunteers.
