Brothers who wish to apply for Sigma Chi Foundation scholarships for the 2016 to 2017 school year must do so by March 16 through the Foundation’s website.

Foremost among undergraduate awards are the Founders’ Scholarships, which the top-seven applicants receive in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. Undergraduate pplicants are required to maintain a GPA greater than 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and provide copies of their most recent transcript, as well as two letters of recommendation from professors, mentors, coaches and other reputable sources. Graduate applicants are required to do the same while maintaining a 3.0 GPA or greater.

In 2015, the Foundation awarded an organization-record $349,500 in scholarships to brothers representing 115 chapters. That total marked the eighth consecutive year in which the Foundation increased its giving total by $25,000 or more.
