Consul Hunter Lloyd, 2020, says the colony members were excited to hear that the Executive Committee recently approved its Declaration of Intent to become a colony. “We have been nothing but excited and motivated since day one, with all members ready to work hard and really contribute in a meaningful way,” Lloyd says. “While many of us were strangers at the beginning of this [colonization] process, we have quickly grown to be the strongest and tightest group I have ever been a part of personally.”
Lloyd, an economics and financial management major, says the colony is ready to make a name for itself on campus. “With the goal of becoming a chapter here at West Chester University, we are already on track to make a difference on campus and in the community,” he explains. “While we are the new guys on campus, we are looking forward to setting a good example on campus and in the community … we already have overwhelming support from the other fraternities [and] sororities, as well as the administration here on campus.”
Lloyd says that he and the other colony members are excited to join the brotherhood that the Fraternity offers, while learning what it means to become a chapter of a well-known Greek-letter organization.
“We really are working with enthusiasm and dedication [to move] forward in our [colonization] process, and we are here to represent Sigma Chi in the best possible light,” Lloyd said.
The West Chester group is one of the Fraternity’s seven colonies in North America.
