The Fraternity has awarded its Jay E. Minton Best Alumni Chapter Officer Award to Alex Borowski, NEW MEXICO 2013. According to the brothers who nominated him for the award, Borowski has used his roles as secretary and treasurer of the Albuquerque Alumni Chapter to streamline the chapter’s finances, create and regularly publish e-newsletters, and encourage alumni attendance at local initiation ceremonies. In addition, he was one of the members of the University of New Mexico chapter’s centennial planning committee.
Originally created in 1928, the award was named in honor of Order of Constantine Sig Jay Minton Sr., MISSOURI-COLUMBIA 1920, in 1975. Minton was a Grand Trustee and served as vice president of the Order of Constantine. The award bearing his name recognizes outstanding leadership, Fraternity relations and service, as well as effectiveness and improvement by an officer in his alumni chapter.
