Undergraduate chapters that wish to incorporate local activities into their Preparation for Brotherhood curriculum during the spring 2017 term must submit them for review by Nov. 15, 2016. The Fraternity's local activity review subcommittee looked at 385 such activities and literary excercises for use this fall; those submissions were due July 1.
In a May 13, 2016 letter to the Fraternity’s members, Preparation for Brotherhood committee vice chairman and Order of Constantine Sig Mark Galbo, SAN JOSE STATE 1982, urged brothers to consider the following questions when submitting an activity for possible approval:
1. Does the activity reflect Sigma Chi’s core values?
2. Is the activity’s learning outcome necessary for a pledge to understand our Ritual?
3. Does the activity have to occur during the chapter’s Preparation for Brotherhood pledgeship? and
4. Can the activity be replicated at all of our chapters?
“With this new program, Sigma Chi is actively making a move to lead the way when it comes to preparation of our future members,” says Galbo in his letter. “We cannot wait to see what you have to offer as partners in building this program.”
