The Sigma Chi Foundation congratulates the 63 chapters that have been designated as Thomas Cowan Bell chapters — named in honor of Founder Thomas Cowan Bell, MIAMI (OHIO) 1857 — for the 2014 to 2015 school year.
Through the Foundation’s Bell Chapter Challenge program, alumni of each undergraduate chapter can make unrestricted gifts to directly sponsor their chapter’s participation in all of the Fraternity’s key leadership programs, and provide its brothers with scholarship opportunities.
Bell Chapters that reach Blue status are those whose alumni have donated $10,000 per year, or have established a $250,000 endowment. Benefits received by Blue-level chapters include the following:

Registration for eight brothers to attend the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (LTW) — in comparison, non-Bell chapters are afforded five registration spots;

One designated slot for qualified applicants to attend the Horizons leadership development program — be aware that the application period for the 2014 Horizons has closed;

One designated $1,000 general undergraduate scholarship for qualified applicants;

Attendance at the Bell Chapter leadership dinner and keynote at each year’s Balfour LTW for select officers;

Receipt of the Fraternity's new Crossroads values-based decision-making program regarding alcohol and drugs;

A $250 additional travel stipend for costs associated with attending Balfour LTW.

Bell Chapters that reach Gold status are those whose alumni have donated $20,000 per year, or have established a $500,000 endowment. Benefits received by Gold-level chapters include the following:

Registration for 10 brothers to attend the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (LTW) — in comparison, non-Bell chapters are afforded five registration spots;

Two designated slots for qualified applicants to attend the Horizons leadership development program — be aware that the application period for the 2014 Horizons has closed;

Two designated $1,000 general undergraduate scholarships for qualified applicants;

Attendance at the Bell Chapter leadership dinner and keynote at each year’s Balfour LTW for select officers;

Receipt of the Fraternity's new Crossroads values-based decision-making program regarding alcohol and drugs;

A $1,000 additional travel stipend for costs associated with attending Balfour LTW;

A $3,000 leadership stipend to cover the costs of any approved chapter expense. Suggested uses include additional scholarships; new technology for the chapter house; and attendance at other Greek-letter leadership programs such as the North-American Interfraternity Conference’s Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). Please contact Associate Director of Development Chris Brooks, COLLEGE OF IDAHO 2006, for approval of these funds.
