The Sigma Chi International Fraternity added another colony to its rolls on Nov. 1, when the Executive Committee voted to recognize the Sigma Chi Rho group at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The group formed as a local fraternity in 1999, and has 17 members.
“The overall goal of Sigma Chi Rho is to be the best fraternal organization on campus,” writes Consul Matthew Cash, in the group's declaration of intent to become a colony. He adds that with the quality of the colony's membership and the considerable resources and prestige of Sigma Chi, the hope is to bolster Greek-letter life at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Alumni who wish to assist with the colony's journey toward its installation as a fully recognized chapter should contact Headquarters' Director of Expansion Nick Conway,CAL. STATE-FRESNO 2010, at (847) 869-3655, ext. 221, ornick.conway@sigmachi.org.
