ROANOKE, Va. (May 20, 2026) — The Sigma Chi Foundation announced today that its Board of Governors has elected new leadership for the 2026 to 2028 biennium.
Sigma Chi’s 69th Grand Consul, Order of Constantine Sig and Significant Sig Michael Ursillo, BROWN 1978, has been elected Chairman, while Order of Constantine Sig and Significant Sig Joe Martin, HOUSTON 1976, was named Vice Chairman.
The new roles became effective following the conclusion of the Foundation’s Spring Board of Governors meeting at Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke.
Additionally, Order of Constantine Sig Jim Kuykendall, OKLAHOMA STATE 1987, vice president of Equipment World, was elected Treasurer and will also chair the Foundation’s Finance Committee. Order of Constantine Sig Mark Quiner, WYOMING 1978, will continue his service as Parliamentarian for the Board of Governors.
“Brothers Ursillo and Martin have devoted decades of leadership, service and generosity to Sigma Chi,” said Sigma Chi Foundation President and 68th Grand Consul Michael Greenberg, ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 1982. “Throughout their tenure on the Board of Governors, they have helped guide the Foundation with a clear focus on Sigma Chi’s future and the lasting impact our alumni, volunteers and donors can have on undergraduate brothers across North America.
“Their understanding of the Foundation’s mission, combined with their commitment to leadership development, scholarship support and alumni engagement, will continue to strengthen our Fraternity for years to come.”
Ursillo, who joined the Foundation Board of Governors in 2019, is the managing partner of Ursillo, Teitz & Ritch, where his practice focuses on municipal and business law. A dedicated volunteer for decades, he has served Sigma Chi in numerous leadership capacities, including Grand Praetor, president of the Order of Constantine and, ultimately, 69th Grand Consul following his election in 2015.
His lifelong commitment to Sigma Chi is reflected through both his service and philanthropic support. Ursillo is a member of the Foundation’s Founders’ Circle through his participation in the William Lewis Lockwood Society, recognizing lifetime giving exceeding $100,000. He is also a member of the Order of Constantine, honoring distinguished lifetime service to the Fraternity, and the James Parks Caldwell Society in recognition of his planned legacy support to Sigma Chi Foundation.
“Sigma Chi has played a defining role in my life, both personally and professionally,” Ursillo said. “The friendships, leadership opportunities and values our Fraternity instills continue to shape generations of young men. Through the work of the Sigma Chi Leadership Institute and our scholarship initiatives, we are investing directly in the future of our undergraduate brothers. That work only moves forward because of the dedication of our volunteers, staff and donors who believe deeply in Sigma Chi’s mission and future.”
Martin joined the Foundation Board of Governors in 2016 and is the retired president and chief operating officer of Freedom Innovations. Following his graduation from the University of Houston, he served on the International Headquarters staff as an associate executive secretary before beginning decades of volunteer leadership throughout the Fraternity.
Martin has served as president of the Epsilon Xi House Corporation, advised undergraduate chapters, and contributed to numerous Foundation and International Fraternity committees over the years. Alongside his service, he is also recognized as a member of the Foundation’s Founders’ Circle for his longstanding philanthropic support of Sigma Chi.
“The Foundation’s mission is important because it directly impacts the undergraduate experience and helps prepare young men for success long after graduation,” Martin said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving alongside such a committed group of volunteers and staff as we work to strengthen Sigma Chi for future generations.”
