EVANSTON, IL (SEPTEMBER 9, 2024) — The Sigma Chi Foundation announced today that President and General Counsel John Price, OKLAHOMA STATE 1991, has accepted a position as Vice President and General Counsel at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the state’s largest two-year multi-campus college.

Price joined the Foundation in 2018 as its first Director of Legacy Giving. Upon arrival he addressed the organization’s need of a focus planned giving strategy. He planned and implemented a successful estate planning program, growing commitments to $4 million annually in just five years.

In 2020, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations and General Counsel where his roles included managing the Foundation’s development strategies, supervising its development officers and leading its general operations efforts at J. Dwight Peterson International Fraternity Headquarters and across the United States. Price was named as the Foundation’s interim chief executive in December 2022 and was formally named President and General Counsel in June 2023.

“John is an incredible professional who is very well respected by everyone throughout the entire Sigma Chi enterprise,” said Chairman Jeff Muir, GEORGIA 1971. “His skills, excellent working relationships and expertise were instrumental in improving the transparency and processes related to the Foundation’s charitable mission and setting us on a path for continued growth and success. Over the last year, he has worked closely with the Foundation Board of Governors and staff to refine processes and improve the organization’s alignment with the International Fraternity and Sigma Chi Leadership Institute.

“We all express our deep gratitude to Brother Price for his lifelong devotion to Sigma Chi and his invaluable contributions to the Foundation for over six years. While we will miss this valued brother and his positive can-do attitude, we know John is thrilled to return to a college role in his beloved Oklahoma and wish him, his wife Suzee, and their family the utmost success for the next chapter in their journey.”

Said Price: “To lead the Foundation and contribute in some small way to its important mission has been an honor, privilege, and a highlight of my professional career. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity and the many friendships that I have made and enjoyed as we all seek to secure the future of Sigma Chi. Our values are timeless, and the great work of the Foundation shall continue.”

Price graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1991 with a degree in history, received his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law and is a member of both the Oklahoma and Illinois Bar Associations. Prior to joining the Foundation, he served as associate general counsel for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges Board of Regents.

John will continue as President of the Foundation through September and early October. The Foundation Board of Governors expects to announce the next President during the same time frame.
