The Sigma Chi Foundation congratulates 53 chapters that have been designated as Thomas Cowan Bell chapters — in honor of Founder Thomas Cowan Bell, MIAMI (OHIO) 1857 — for the 2013–14 school year.
Through the Foundation’s Bell Chapter Challenge program, alumni from each chapter can make unrestricted gifts to directly sponsor their chapter’s participation in all of the Fraternity’s key leadership programs and provide scholarship opportunities.
Bell Chapters that reach blue status have alumni who donate $10,000 per year with a $250,000 endowment to their Bell fund.
Available to blue-status chapters are: Three additional free slots for registration at Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (LTW); one designated slot for the Horizons leadership development program; one designated $1,000 academic scholarship that will recognize the chapter’s lead donor; and a CHOICES alcohol and drug awareness program at no cost to the chapter.
Bell Chapters that reach gold status have alumni who donate $20,000 per year with a $500,000 endowment to their Bell fund.
Available to gold-status chapters are: Five additional free slots for registration at Balfour LTW; two designated slots for the Horizons leadership development program; two designated $1,000 academic scholarships that will recognize the chapter’s lead donor; a CHOICES alcohol and drug awareness program at no cost to the chapter; a $3,000 stipend toward its Journey chapter retreat program and a $1,000 Balfour LTW travel stipend.
