The Fraternity officially added another chapter to its roll on Saturday,
Dec. 1, 2012, with the installation of the undergraduate chapter at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa.
The chapter’s Greek-letter name will be Lambda Rho, and it welcomed 38 brothers as chapter founders when they were initiated Dec. 1 on the university’s campus in the DiSepio Institute for Health and Wellness building. The chapter’s installation banquet was later that evening at the Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg, Pa.
Installing the newest addition to the Fraternity was the undergraduate chapter at Gettysburg College with the undergraduate chapters at Pennsylvania State University and Carnegie Mellon University assisting the installation. The Saint Francis chapter’s I-week and installation were led by the Sigma Chi International Headquarters installation team of Director of Expansion Nick Conway, CAL. STATE-FRESNO 2010, and Expansion Coordinator Kyle Marscellas, CALIFORNA-IRVINE 2011.
Originally named the Sigma Chi Psi Colony, it had its Declaration of Intent accepted by the Fraternity’s New Chapter Development Committee on Feb. 1, 2011. Since then, it got to work on its installation process, having its Phase One and Phase Two reports accepted on May 4, 2012, and Sept. 18, 2012, respectively.
With the new addition, the Fraternity now totals 241 chapters, eight colonies and one interest group.
