The Fraternity announced on Aug. 17, 2012, that the Sigma Chi Omega Colony at Missouri State University had its Declaration of Intent accepted by the New Chapter Development Committee and Sigma Chi’s Executive Committee.
“The members of Sigma Chi Omega are very excited to hear that we are now an official colony,” wrote colony Consul Chris Wolf, 2014, in a letter to Sigma Chi International Headquarters on Aug. 17, 2012. “We are also excited and motivated to complete Phase One as soon as possible.”
The colony, located in Springfield, Mo., now enters its Phase One portion of the expansion process, and therefore is a petitioning local chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. The Fraternity now totals 240 chapters, 11 colonies and one interest group.
Anyone looking to get involved with the colony at Missouri State, or anyone with questions about the colonization process can please contact Director of Expansion Matt Pagan, NORTH FLORIDA 2010, at (847) 869-3655, ext. 208, or matt.pagan@sigmachi.org.
