In keeping with the Sigma Chi Foundation’s mission to help brothers in need, it created the Strong Arms of Support Scholarship Fund.
This fund will be used to provide academic scholarships — that can include educational needs such as replacing a computer — to brothers impacted by a recent natural disaster or other exigent situation.
“My family and I live right on the water on the south shore of Long Island, so when Hurricane Sandy hit, we suffered extensive damages to our home and vehicles,” says Brandon Fontana, FLORIDA SOUTHERN 2014. “As you can imagine, expenses were a serious issue. I am grateful for the financial assistance provided through the Strong Arms Scholarship and to the great men of Sigma Chi who donated to make this possible.”
The objective is to fill a financial need created by disaster. For more information, please click here.
The Foundation also encourages all undergraduates to apply for scholarship applications for the 2013–14 year. Providing scholarships and awards furthers the Foundation’s goal to promote academic excellence and lifelong learning. It awards brothers who show outstanding character in action, academic motivation, and commitment to their chapters and campuses.
Scholarship applications are due June 15, 2013. Anyone interested in applying, should go to this link. The Foundation will notify scholarship recipients via email at the address provided on their application beginning Aug. 15, 2013.
