Foundation Announces $100,000 Match Challenge

 
Significant Sig Steven Denning, GEORGIA TECH 1970, has partnered with the Sigma Chi Foundation to match donations benefiting the Fraternity’s Journey chapter development program up to $100,000.
“Sigma Chi has long been a forerunner of leadership programs combatting risk-related issues that adversely impact college campuses,” said Denning. “I am happy to support the Fraternity’s continued push to educate our brothers so they can lead the effort to change the culture on collegiate campuses across the United States and Canada, impacting present and future generations of Sigma Chis at all of our active undergraduate chapters.”
The Journey program consists of different facilitation modules, each of which can be used to help an undergraduate chapter and its members improve in different areas: For example, the Responsibility and Accountability Journey teaches strategies for holding brothers accountable to their actions, while the Strategic Visioning Journey assists chapters in holding themselves accountable to meeting the goals of the strategic plans that they form at each year’s Balfour Leadership Training Workshop.
In addition to his initial $50,000 donation, Denning has pledged to donate an additional $50,000 if his fellow Sigs raise $100,000 on their own by Dec. 31, 2015. If that goal is met, the resulting donations would finance the Journey program for two years.
