This fall, representatives of Sigma Chi International Fraternity Headquarters and the Executive Committee plan to install a new chapter at California State University San Marcos. Before they can do so, however, the Fraternity’s existing undergraduate and alumni chapters must vote at least 75 percent in favor of such an action.
To that end, Executive Director Michael Church, ILLINOIS 2005, issued an email message on Sept. 16 to undergraduate and alumni chapters informing them of their responsibilities in regard to installing the proposed Cal. State-San Marcos chapter. Church’s email includes directions for reviewing the colony’s Formal Petition online, and lays out the circumstances that must be met in order for the installation to proceed.
For more information about the colonization and installation process, or for a copy of Church’s email described in the paragraph above, contact Preston Lees, WESTERN ILLINOIS 2014, associate director of expansion at Headquarters.
