About Michael

Michael was initiated into the Fraternity’s undergraduate chapter at the University of South Carolina (USC) on Jan. 24, 1998 and graduated from USC in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He also holds a master’s degree from Appalachian State University in college student development with an emphasis in student affairs practice in higher education. Michael has spent his career working in fraternity and sorority life and Greek-letter housing and residence life on various levels and at various institutions of higher education. He has held additional roles working in leadership education and development and student involvement. Michael served his undergraduate chapter as Quaestor and Consul and is a Balfour Award recipient, Life Loyal Sig, certified Ritual Peer and has served the General Fraternity as a Grand Praetor for the South Carolina province. Michael joined the International Headquarters staff as a regional chapter support coordinator in 2017 before joining the accountability team in 2023.

Job Description

As the Fraternity’s director of accountability, Michael works in support of the mission to hold Sigma Chi’s undergraduate chapters to high levels of performance. He supports the organization’s accountability process and its Chapter and Member Accountability Committee (CAMAC). He is responsible for providing customer services, data entry and case processing for all individual and chapter conduct matters. He additionally assists with creating and presenting rehabilitation plans to volunteer and senior leadership, and ensures those plans are implemented effectively with the appropriate stakeholders.
