The Horizons Huntsman Leadership Summit, formerly known as the Horizons program, wrapped up the last of its four sessions last summer in July. In so doing, the Fraternity shepherded 193 Huntsman scholars, as program participants are now called, to Snowbird, Utah, where they took part in six days of leadership development exercises.
“Everything about the Huntsman Leadership Summit is incredible,” says 2015 participant Matthew Rota, CALIFORNIA-SAN DIEGO 2016. “Spending time with like-minded Sigma Chis from across the United States who are goal-oriented and want to change their chapters for the better in the mountains, while how to better lead your brothers, is the kind of experience you can’t just get anywhere else.”
Since its inception in 2000, the Horizons/Huntsman Leadership Summit programs have guided nearly 2,300 undergraduates to Snowbird, where they interact with alumni facilitators and fellow underclassmen undergraduates who are interested in taking on leadership roles within their chapters. Applications for the 2016 Huntsman Leadership Summit sessions will be available on sigmachi.org no later than Nov. 1, and are due in early February 2016.
