NIC Recognizes Jeremy Terman, MISSOURI-COLUMBIA 2016, with its Undergraduate Award of Distinction

The North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) will confer one of its 2015 NIC Awards of Distinction upon Jeremy Terman, MISSOURI-COLUMBIA 2016, on April 19 at it annual meeting of the House of Delegates in Kansas City, Mo. Terman is one of nine undergraduates from NIC chapters to be so recognized, and is the only winner who hails from Sigma Chi.
“Accepting this award makes me feel proud of all the work I’ve done for the chapter, and shows that hard work does pay off,” says Terman. “It shows that if you have a lot of passion for something and feel like you can make an impact, you should do it.”
The NIC’s Awards of Distinction seek to recognize fraternity men who have found in their experience an outlet for developing as both a leader and a better man, according to an NIC press release. Additionally, the release states that recipients strive to embody the values of their fraternity and will expect the same from those with whom they associate.
The organization honored Terman in part due to his community service efforts, which include volunteering at a local Jewish community center, coordinating his chapter’s annual Slap Shot on Cancer charity hockey game, founding the organization Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat, and interning with the Special Olympics organization in Columbia, Mo.
