The Sigma Chi chapter at the University of Louisville will be among five Greek-letter organizations that will receive the 2013 Chapter Award of Distinction from the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) at the NIC’s annual meeting on April 14, 2013, in St. Louis.
According to the NIC, the Louisville Sigs were recognized for having achieved a 3.32 cumulative GPA, raising nearly $20,000 for philanthropic endeavors in 2012 and winning Sigma Chi’s Peterson Significant Chapter Award 14 consecutive times. The Peterson Award is the top honor for an undergraduate Sigma Chi chapter.
Order of Constantine Sig Mike Dunn, UTAH STATE 1976, executive director of Sigma Chi International Headquarters, praised the group, saying that theirs is an exemplar of a highly functioning, policy compliant and values-driven undergraduate chapter.
The Louisville Sigs join the Emory University Alpha Tau Omegas; the Susquehanna University Phi Mu Deltas; the California State University, Fresno Pi Kappa Alphas; and the Arizona State University Pi Kappa Phis in receiving the NIC's 2013 award.
