Joseph Cruz, TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE 2024, wins 2025 carlISLE award

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO | August 2, 2025 — Joseph Cruz, TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE 2024, accepted the 2025 William H. Carlisle Jr. Outstanding Workshop Faculty Award during the closing ceremony of the Krach Transformational Leaders Workshop held July 30 to Aug. 3 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

He facilitated the Adaptive Leadership Certificate track during Krach TLW.

The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Leadership Training Board member, New England-Nova Scotia province Grand Praetor and Order of Constantine Sig Carlisle, GEORGIA TECH and MIT 1927. He was a longtime fixture at workshop and entered the Chapter Eternal in January 1967 after battling cancer.

The 1967 workshop held at the University of Kansas was dedicated to his memory, and in his honor the Carlisle Award was created to recognize an outstanding faculty member who embodies the spirit of enthusiasm and congeniality that Carlisle was known to contribute to Sigma Chi and workshop. The first recipient of the annual award was future 50th Grand Consul Jack McDuff, ARIZONA 1951, for his service to the Quaestors division. A permanent plaque resides at International Fraternity Headquarters to record each year’s recipient.
