For the first time in Fraternity history, Sigma Chi’s undergraduate delegates to the Executive Committee were elected virtually during a special session of the Grand Council on June 27.
Adam Carrillo, SAN DIEGO STATE 2021, and Carter Ray, TROY 2021, were selected by their peers to represent undergraduate members on the Executive Committee for the 2020 to 2021 academic year.
Additional items of business will be conducted virtually on October 10. More information on the second Grand Council session will available soon.
Carrillo was initiated into the San Diego State chapter on March 14 after helping lead reinstallation efforts as Quaestor, Pro Consul and the founding Consul. He plans to become a high school math teacher after graduating.
Ray, who was re-elected to his second term as undergraduate delegate on the Executive Committee, was initiated in November 2016 and has served as president of the Troy University Interfraternity Council, as well as his chapter’s risk management chair and house manager. Ray plans to become a licensed land surveyor upon graduation while pursuing a career in local and state politics.
Undergraduate Executive Committee representatives must be a member in good standing with letters of support from at least 13 of the Fraternity’s undergraduate chapters. They are elected during Grand Council and Grand Chapter events by undergraduate delegates.
Carrillo and Ray will participate as voting members on the committee alongside the Grand Consul, Grand Pro Consul, Grand Quaestor, alumnus member-at-large, two Grand Praetor representatives, a Grand Trustee representative, the immediate past Grand Consul and the two most recent International Balfour Award winners.
