The Keith Sorensen Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory and lasting legacy of 54th Grand Consul, Order of Constantine Sig and Significant Sig Keith Sorensen, UTAH and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 1962, who entered the Chapter Eternal on May 1, 2023, at age 88.
Sorensen was initiated into the Fraternity’s Beta Epsilon chapter at the University of Utah on June 8, 1954, and later transferred to the University of Southern California where he affiliated with the Fraternity’s Alpha Upsilon chapter. An attorney by trade, Sorensen at various times was senior vice president, secretary and general counsel for Granada Inc., a commercial real estate development and management company. He also was a United Fund district director and chairman of the Utah Council in Housing and Land Use. Sorensen also was an elder and bishop in his church.
Brother Sorensen’s lifelong commitment and service to Sigma Chi was highlighted by his term as our 54th Grand Consul from 1985 to 1987. He was both a member of the Order of Constantine and a Significant Sig. He served on the leadership training workshop faculty for many years. He additionally served as Grand Praetor (regional governor) of the Utah/Southern Idaho province from 1967 to 1971 and on the Board of Grand Trustees from 1971 to 1979.
Thank you for your support of this fitting tribute to a beloved brother.
The Sorensen Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a qualified member of the Alpha Upsilon or Beta Epsilon chapters.
