In 2011 one such gift was made as a challenge grant to other Brothers who have also benefitted from Sigma Chi Foundation’s medical scholarships to continue perpetuating this meaningful academic assistance.

The Earl A. Denton, Chicago 1929, Graduate Scholarship is provided annually to (a) student/s pursuing a graduate degree in the field of international affairs, with an emphasis in world trade, economics, business or political science. This award is made possible by a generous gift from the late Earl and Leona Denton and provides a minimum of $1,000 in academic scholarship support. Brother Denton owned and operated a Chicago-based international trade firm. He was also an officer and life-long supporter of the Chicago Alumni Chapter. It was his desire that recipients of this award will have an impact in the area of world trade.

This scholarship award is made possible through the generous support of the Sigma Chi Foundation’s Life Loyal Sig annual donors. The Sigma Chi General Graduate Scholarship Award provides a minimum $1,000 academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi graduate pursuing a graduate level study in any academic field and selected through the Sigma Chi Graduate Scholarship process.

FUTURE donor-scholar AWARDS

Future applicants to the Sigma Chi Foundation’s graduate academic scholarships program will be considered for Donor-Scholar awards that are presently being funded by Sigma Chi alumni and friends once those endowment funds reach the $25,000 requirement.
