EPSILON XI SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Sigma Chi Fraternity was founded on core values that continue to guide and inspire the young men of today who have become a part of our brotherhood.

As you know, the Epsilon Xi chapter at the University of Houston was originally established on May 5th, 1956, when 88 members of Gan Bey were initiated into Sigma Chi. Much like our founding brothers and the generations of Epsilon Xi Sigs who followed, the 45 active Chapter members today remain committed to upholding the Sigma Chi's principles of Friendship, Justice, and Learning.

Just as you and I did, the young men of Epsilon Xi are building lifelong bonds as brothers, achieving academic excellence, serving our community, and supporting the University. As alumni, we have an obligation to support and encourage the undergraduate members as they begin their lifelong journeys.

A number of years ago we started the Epsilon Xi Scholarship Award. The award provides $250.00 for college expenses and is given to every new initiate who achieves a grade point average of 3.0 or better during their pledge semester. Obviously, the purpose of the Scholarship Award is to attract good young men and to encourage academic performance. Three new initiates from the Fall 2022 Pledge Class recently received checks for $250 as award winners.

I am writing to all the Epsilon Xi alumni brothers asking them to contribute $100, or whatever you can to this worthy cause to support the educational aspirations needs of our young members. Your tax-deductible gift, regardless of the amount, will make a meaningful difference.

You can make your contribution to the Sigma Chi Foundation using PayPal or with a credit card or simply writing a check to the Epsilon Xi Scholarship Fund.

Thank you for supporting Sigma Chi and all the future young men of Epsilon Xi.

In Hoc,

Joe Martin, HOUSTON 1976
