Our Current Curriculum

The Sigma Chi Leadership Institute’s curriculum and programming is delivered to our chapters and conference sites through a blend of online and interpersonal training by our accomplished facilitators. From our pioneering workshop, which serves more than 1,800 undergraduates and alumni annually, to our award-winning new member education module Preparation for Brotherhood, SCLI programs are essential to Sigma Chi's mission to develop values-based leaders that will shape our world.

The following is a selection of our award winning programming and our annual leadership education events:

The Values-Based Decision-Making Program is comprised of a Core Curriculum and seven electives that address accountability and other challenging issues facing our Greek-letter communities (i.e., hazing, alcohol, drug use, sexual assault, etc.) from a positive behavioral approach.

The Mission 365 Recruitment Program provides chapter members with practical suggestions and tools to elevate recruitment efforts in their Quest for the Best on your campus. Elective topics include Selecting Men of Character, Building Enduring Friendships, The Spirit of Sigma Chi (Diversity), and Marketing our Differentiators.

Our award-winning Preparation for Brotherhood Pledge Education Program (P4B) is a revolutionary and interactive model five-week pledge-program that combines pledge education, the Fraternity’s best pledge-activities and literary exercises, and our core values in a blended learning approach. Starting in 2020, P4B will also house our award-winning Strong Arms curriculum.

Ritual for Life education (R4L) is designed to educate new initiates on Sigma Chi’s Ritual history and inspire them to apply the Ritual’s lessons to their lives for the betterment of the chapter, campus, and community. R4L is comprised of three courses.

The Huntsman Horizons Experiential Leadership Journey in Snowbird, Utah is a six-day, intensive, interactive, values-based leadership experience focused on developing undergraduate Sigma Chis and continues with long-distance coaching back on campus and in the community. Brothers are led by trained alumni in a group of 8 undergraduates, from chapters across the US and Canada, to experience values-based leadership immersion while learning more about themselves and others.

The Krach Transformational Leadership Workshop is the annual leadership training conference. Each year, student leaders from campuses across the United States and Canada gather together at a common site, most recently Bowling Green State University in Ohio, to address the most complex problems the Greek landscape is facing and identify innovative solutions.

Following the tragic loss of seven members over a three-year span from 2012 to 2014, Sigma Chi wanted to send a message to its members that their safety and welfare were top priorities. The result of those efforts, the Sigma Chi Strong Arms curriculum, serves as the Greek-letter world’s first dedicated learning resource addressing mental wellness and emotional health. The program is assigned to all new members upon receiving a license on Sigma Chi Online and it should be completed within a new member’s first year within the Fraternity.
