RISK MANAGEMENT FOUNDATION (RMF) provides risk management instruction to educate students and administrators by sharing experiences and foreseeing trends to promote responsible action and reduce incidents and claims.

We are readily accessible to undergraduate chapters with a number of educational opportunities. We provide bystander intervention trainings, explain and inform of shared-risk pool opportunities and develop customized workshops and trainings. Each year, RMF also awards educational grants and scholarships. We are also a trusted advisor to institutional clients.

Created in 1998, the non-profit Risk Management Foundation and its subsidiaries were established to provide members with risk management education and loss prevention. The RMF provides education resources and loss control services that foster a culture of safety and responsibility, and promote smart choices and healthy behavior.

Utilizing pooled resources, prudent management, industry experience and forward thinking to ensure and enable the Sigma Chi experience, through practical education outreach; insurance coverage; professional and personal development opportunities; and housing management, development, and financing resources.

RMF is a knowledgeable, respected partner, founded to educate, students, members, and volunteers on responsibly managing risk; to protect, elevate and ensure the Sigma Chi journey; and to preserve and enhance the fraternal housing experience.

Over $150,000 in grant support to SCLI in 2020. Over $500,000 in the last 10 years.

We Educate Through...

  • We are readily accessible to undergraduate chapters and alumni volunteers, providing counsel on how best to manage risk and limit exposures relating to chapter activities.
  • RMF provides more than $100,000 annually in educational grants for undergraduates to attend KTLW to learn about best risk management and how best to access RMF resources.
  • Supporting the development of more than 14,000 undergraduates annually, the RMF funds bystander intervention training to ensure all members are educated on issues of sexual misconduct, hazing, alcohol and mental health.
  • RMF is a trusted advisor to protect your operations. Our knowledge and understanding of the collegiate market uniquely positions us to provide institutional clients with both informed counsel on coverages and customized risk management training opportunities.
  • We work with our insured to best understand their insurance and risk management needs. When appropriate, we are able to offer shared-risk pools with similar organizations to provide more robust coverage at more attractive rates.
  • We conduct workshops for Risk Managers, HR personnel, Facility Operations Directors and CFOs from our institutional clients to share best practices and provide education on trends. This increased safety awareness helps institutions to manage liabilities and reduce costs.
