They’re known as chapter advisors, as house corporation presidents, and alumni volunteers. Some perhaps mentored undergraduates as facilitators at the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop; others may have helped their undergraduate chapters secure financing for chapter house renovations. Whatever other titles they may have, Sigma Chi knows these Sigs are its most dedicated volunteers.
In recognition of their dedication, the Fraternity honored seven such men as recipients of the 2014 Seven Lights Alumni Award. They are John Baran, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 1947; Ray Baumgarten, TULSA 1974; Henry Brock, CAL. STATE-FRESNO 1964; Douglas Harden, GEORGIA and GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN 2005; Patrick Martin, HOUSTON 1974; Britt Radford, OKLAHOMA 1977; and D. Ronald Reneker, TULSA 1968.
The Seven Lights Alumni Award is presented to members who have committed 10 or more years of service to the Fraternity as an alumnus. No more than 28 Seven Lights Alumni Awards can be given out annually, and Significant Sigs and Order of Constantine inductees are not eligible to receive the award. Click here to access the nomination form; nominations are due March 1.
