The nomination process for the 2019 to 2021 International Sweetheart of Sigma Chi and the annual Balfour Awards has begun.
The International Sweetheart of Sigma Chi is a woman who serves as role model for all brothers, and is the Fraternity’s liaison to non-members throughout the world. She must possess an understanding of the values and ideals for which the White Cross stands, and exemplify these values and ideals in her daily life.
Chapters are encouraged to honor their sweetheart by nominating her to become the Fraternity’s next International Sweetheart; the winner will be announced during the 82nd Grand Chapter in Salt Lake City in June 2019. The winner will serve her two-year term during the 2019 to 2021 biennium. Applications for International Sweetheart are available by clicking here.
Submit the completed application by email to Barbara Sara, member awards and recognition coordinator, at barbara.sara.sigmachi.org by March 1, 2019.

The Balfour Award recognizes the organization’s most outstanding graduating seniors and contains three levels of distinction: chapter, province and international.
Each chapter selects its own Chapter Balfour Award winner using the criteria that they find results in the selection of their most outstanding graduating senior. The chapter can recognize a brother who has or will be graduating in the current academic year.
Each Chapter Balfour Award winner receives a plaque denoting his achievement and will be eligible for the Province Balfour Award.
To report a chapter winner, visit sigmachi.org/chapter-system, log in and select “Membership.” In the drop-down menu, select the “Chapter Balfour Award winner” and follow the instructions found in the form by Feb. 15.
