The Executive Committee (EC) of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity has suspended the organization's Florida State University chapter for an indefiinite time periord due to poor practices related to its risk management and pledge programs and for behavioral issues.
The chapter's members acted inconsistent with the Fraternity's values and thus, it was necessary for the EC to suspend the chapter. Members of the chapter have been moved to alumni status and cannot participate in undergraduate chapter activities of any kind for the duration of thier college careers.

Mike Greenberg, ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 1982, says, “Sigma Chi is committed to establishing a culture within all of its chapters where each and every member can have a positive and rewarding experience. Our belief in the concept of justice requires us to hold each other accountable for failure to live up to our obligations and values. The members of the chapter and their actions made this a necessary decision for the good of Sigma Chi.”
