Bob Wilson, FORT HAYS 1981, was initiated into the Fraternity on May 6, 1978. He served his chapter as philanthropy chairman, Quaestor and Consul, while serving Fort Hays State University as its student body vice president and chairman of the student senate. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in political science, and a bachelor of science degree in economics. Wilson began volunteering with the Fraternity while pursuing his master’s degree in international economics at the University of Denver. There, he engaged with the Delta Iota chapter as its chapter advisor and with Denver Alumni Chapter as the secretary-treasurer. The summer following his graduation from Fort Hays, he began as a Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (LTW) facilitator. At various times, he served on the Quaestor, Magister and Recruitment faculty teams, and chaired the latter for Team Balfour. He earned the William H. Carlisle Jr. Outstanding Workshop Faculty Award in 1998. He became a Horizons leadership development program facilitator in its inaugural year, and served on the board that created the Mission 365 recruitment training program, continuing as a facilitator and as chairman of the Mission 365 operating board twice. Selected as Grand Praetor for the Rocky Mountain province, he served 10 years in that role. During that time, he helped to reactivate the Pikes Peak Alumni Association. Wilson joined was inducted into the Order of Constantine in 2003, and was elected as the Fraternity's Grand Tribune in 2015.
Professionally, Wilson started his commodity trading career in Denver while in grad school. He is a founding partner in hedgersedge.com, a consulting firm for the agri-business community. The family interests continue in farming and ranching. Community service includes time as a 4-H leader, president of his Parish Council and member of the College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council at his alma mater. Deb, his college sweetheart, agreed to marriage more than 30 years ago and remains the cornerstone in his life. His daughter, Dylan, and son Brody Wilson, NEW MEXICO STATE 2014, complete his foundation.
