Born in Charleston, W.Va., Matt spent most of his early years in Ohio. He attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., where he served as the Xi chapter's risk manager, Quaestor and Consul. Outside of Greek-letter life, Matt was a member of DePauw University's first-year mentor experience and was a four-year participant in varsity athletics. His passion for Sigma Chi and leadership experience led Matt to pursue his present involvement with the Headquarters staff. Upon graduating from DePauw with a degree in economics, Matt joined the Sigma Chi International Headquarters staff in June 2013.
As Director of the Leadership Programs Department, Matt's primary responsibilities include the ongoing development and implementation of all of the Fraternity's educational and leadership curriculum. Matt manages the team that supports all volunteer committees guiding the fraternity's leadership programming. Additionally, Matt works with some of Sigma Chi's newest program initiatives such as the Preparation for Brotherhood program and the Fraternity's Learning Continuum model.
Matt spent two years working as the primary staff support for the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop and has extensive experience working with Sigma Chi's Journey program, Crossroads & Lifeline, and the Jordan Initiative. Matt is excited to bring the best resources in leadership training and experience to Sigma Chi's undergraduate brothers.
